It happen'd at the same time, that it Kyayah of the Janisaries liv'd opposite to the French Consul, on the other Side the Calitz; who hearing and observing their Mirth and jollity, grew envious, jealous and enra'g'd at it. In fine, he sent a Gang of his People, with Orders to go into the very Room where the Consul and his Com-pany were sitting, and to break all the Bottles and Glasses, which they accordingly perform'd. Hereupon the Consul, with all the Gentlemen, (being very much alarm'd and offended at so gross an Insult) went immediately up to the Bashaw, and complain'd.
