"The Legend of Crocknest Island" is a magical book that contains endangered species as well as fictional creatures who have survived extinction. They cohabitate happily and are all very aware of how life is for other animals not on the island, endangered by man and progress. One group on Crocknest works to make sure no more animals become extinct. This leads to an adventure to retrieve endangered animals and bring them back to Crocknest.
