The white working class in the US is widely stereotyped as anti-immigrant, against civil-rights or supporters of Trump and the far-right, but can they really be reduced to a singular group with collective views? 

Drawing on a major research project across five US cities, this book is the first to showcase what the white working class really thinks about some of the most defining issues in today's America, from immigration to identity and belonging. 

Adding considerably to our knowledge on these topical and contested areas of politics and public policy, this book explores ways to build cross-racial coalitions and offers new ideas on how to reengage disenfranchised groups.
