They had seen their parents, children, sisters, and brothers pulled away from them and sent to their deaths, or even killed in front of them. How does a person survive such a thing? How do they make themselves keep going in the face of such hatred? And, having lived, how do they deal with their pain? Can anything good come out of such an experience?
