In 1985 the Ecological Reserves Council proposed to the Director of the Forest Service 5 Pacific Northwest Research Station that the reports for the Research Natural Areas be published formally by the Station. The Station agreed to puish them in the General Technical Report series; the first was Alaska Research Natural Area: 1. Mount Prindle.
