Abstraction between collage and painting

This leporello volume presents two new series by German artist Albert Oehlen (born 1954): the "incomprehensible brown pictures," which take up the earth tones and expressive brushstrokes of his earlier abstract work to arrive at new compositions, and the Ö-Norm paintings, in which the artist defines his current aesthetic standard between painting and collage.
