Description - And Is It True: Truth, God And No Man’S Land by Richard Clarke

This is a book about faith, and about the need to search for faith with integrity - an integrity which requires a ruthless honesty and seeks to leave no place for compartmentalising the self. In this search, Bishop Clarke reconnoitres the territory in which the God of the Christian vision may 'in truth' be encountered and proclaimed today. He suggests that it is essential for believers to take the risk of standing in no-man's-land, and, in that space of vulnerability and insecurity, to pay heed to all those who give voice to a passion and a restlessness for truth. Richard Clarke holds degrees in history from Trinity College, Dublin, and in theology from King's College, London. After curacies in Co. Down and in Dublin, he was Church of Ireland chaplain at Trinity College Dublin. Later, he served as Rector of Bandon before becoming Dean of St Finbarre's Cathedral, Cork. On 14 September 1996 he was consecrated Bishop of Meath and Kildare in Christ Church Cathedral Dublin. He and his wife Linda have two children, Nicholas and Lindsey. Hobbies and interests include travel (especially in France), cricket, Mozart and jazz.
