Shortlisted titles in this category are books where the illustrator is emerging or new to the field of children’s book illustration. Illustrators are eligible to enter the CBCA Award for New Illustrator category in their first year of publishing children’s books where their illustrations develop a narrative which significantly adds to the appreciation of the work as a whole. The age range for this category is 0 to 18 years.
