The work is based, indeed, upon Psalms and Hymns for Divine Woes/zip, (messrs. J. Nisbet Co.) the copyrights of which have been transferred to it by the pro prietors; but the changes made have been so great, and the reconstruction of the book has been so complete, that it was deemed necessary to give it a new title, and church praise has been adopted with the view of distinguishing it from other Hymnals.
