Swine production in a large way is dependent uponhog-cholera control; the cattle industry upon tuberculosis eradication, and in the South upon cattle-tick eradication; the fruit industry upon scien tific methods for the protection of both trees and fruit; many field and truckcrops upon methods of disease control, the introduction and development of new varie ties, and the working out of improved cultural methods and practices.
