When the French pilot Philippe Artus returns to base in his fighter aircraft he finds the airfield in enemy hands. He lands nearby and returns home. His family urges him to flee to England where pilots are desperately needed to defend against invasion. But when he gets there the RAF says it won't use a 'Froggie' who can't speak proper English.
