His most recent books include, Coco Chanel: Three Weeks 1962; Michael Jackson: The Making of Thriller/Four Days, 1983; and With Marilyn a collection photographs of Marilyn Monroe, many of them iconic. Kirkland has been named 'Photographer of the Year' (PMDA) and 'Mentor of the Year' (Fotofusion). He lives in California with his wife and business partner, Francoise.
