What makes this book unique is that it is not only a home front history of Britain, but also a history of the warring nations and the neutral countries affected. AUTHOR: David Bilton is the author of twelve books on Great War subjects, ranging from the 'Hull Pals' to the 'Germans on the Eastern Front'. His first book was the basis of the BBC2 television series, 'The Trench', and he has worked on a number of other TV and radio productions, as well as the remembrance day special edition of Countryfile.
