Description - Heros Nomad by Dan Ashlin
Heros Nomad has been written for the first year high school student who is a motivated reader. It is designed particularly for schools where English and SOSE/Humanities/ HSIE are integrated and/or taught by the same teacher. It is also highly suitable for wide reading, literature circles or novel study. The novel's overall theme is the nature of courage. While the novel can stand alone as teenage fiction, it has another dimension since it covers aspects of the SOSE/Humanities/ HSIE course namely, Sparta in ancient Greece. As part of the English Alive program, the novel has a wide range of worksheets from the English Alive Teacher Resource Book Pase 1 to accompany it, covering language, reading, thinking strategies and an overview of the novel as well as special worksheets that cover the SOSE/Humanities/HSIE aspects of the novel.
