This book discusses the impact vaguelegislation has on powers, duties and rights in the policy around immigration,homelessness and anti-discrimination. It assesses how Parliament has attemptedto clarify its intent with law on human rights, freedom of information andequality. It argues that changes to legislative language, especially theincreasing use of vague semantic and pragmatic parts of speech, has increasedthe vagueness of policy and made it lack any central tendency.
