Description - Life on the Edge of an Era by Rachel Morris Kulp

Living on a farm was hard in those days. Many people were going broke and had to forsake farming and go to work in factories in order to make enough money just to give their families the necessities in life ... let alone the frills they wanted. We were the last family in our area to have electricity. However, we were the first in our community to purchase a 1949 Ford sedan that my father proudly drove throughout the neighborhood. Gasoline was about 35 cents a gallon in 1949, which was a lot of money back then, but we drove that car for at least ten years.

Step back with me into a simpler but very colorful time where proud, honest folks did their best to survive in a "Life on the Edge of an Era."
