Panther and the Museum of Fire is a novella about walking, memory and writing. The narrator walks from Glebe to a central Sydney café to return a manuscript by a recently-dead writer. En route, she strives to understand the effect the reading has had on her: not only the effect of remembering so much that she might prefer to have forgotten, but also the enormous possibilities that have been stirred by the writing in the manuscript itself.
'It is not too much of a stretch to compare Jen Craig's work with the otherwise incomparable W.G. Sebald.' — Debra Adelaide
'What an outstanding novel this is (from 2015)! Makes me feel once more that Oz so badly needs a Goldsmiths-style prize to give bold fictions such as this some exposure.' — Martin Shaw, Readings Books on Twitter
