Irish law only allows for abortion where the life of the pregnant woman is at risk. Even then, accessing abortion is difficult, time-consuming, and punitive. This book rejects the existing parameters of debates about abortion in Ireland and, drawing on experience from other countries, makes out the arguments for a feminist, rights-centered, and radically new approach to abortion law in Ireland.
