* Mojo, one of Butterworth's older plays (premiered 1995) received a 2013 revival on London's West End, starring Rupert Grint (Harry Potter), Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey) and Ben Whishaw.

* Butterworth is also a screenwriter. His most recent credits include the 2014 James Brown biopic Get On Up (starring Chadwick Boseman, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer) and the 2014 action film Edge of Tomorrow (starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt).

* Previous screenwriting credits include Fair Game (2010, starring Sean Penn), The Last Legion (2007, starring Ben Kingsley and Colin Firth), Birthday Girl (2001, starring Nicole Kidman), and a 1997 screen adaptation of his play Mojo.
