(2) all doubts Of identity were definitely settled by transferring spring migrants from rose to caged potato plants and rearing, on potato, the descendants Of the rose aphids through several generations. The missing link in the cycle was thus made evident. The rose bush was the long sought overwintering host of the pink and green aphid of potato.
