Jared is overjoyed when he wins a trip to New Zealand for himself and four friends as first prize in an inventing competition. Of course the four friends are the Doofuzz Dudes. The obvious choice of destination is Jared's uncle Wazza's house at Golden Bay, New Zealand. Uncle Wazza lives across the road from a forest that is on the verge of being chopped down to make way for a shopping centre and car park. It soon becomes apparent to the Dudes that they must save the forest from destruction, especially when they discover eggs of the endangered tuatara reptile in a hidden nest. In a desperate race against time, the Dudes must somehow save the forest and the precious tuatara eggs.
