Description - The Pink Hard Hat - A Woman's Guide to Resilience: To help you build financial security, find your way through tough times and live a rich life by Louise Fitzgerald-Baker

Let's start a conversation about financial resilience. If you lost your job or relationship today, would you be OK?The fact is that many women are not. Women over 55 are the fastest growing homeless group in Australia, and it's a trend echoed in the UK, US and many other developed nations. Many of these women were not born into poverty, just poorly insulated from it. Someone gets sick, leaves, is made redundant, a change happens - and while you overcome the disruption, its financial impact has you reeling for years. Imagine a world where you could insulate yourself from the financial unravelling that often follows life's interruptions? Imagine a process where you could learn to tap into your inner capacity and draw upon your strength to do, be and have a life you adore? Drawing on inspiring multi-generational stories, Louise Fitzgerald-Baker shows you how to build strength and resilience in all aspects of life, starting with money and belief and throwing in a little humour and philosophy along the way. Louise is on a mission to change the plight of accidental poverty for women today. She believes the question, 'Are you OK?' should extend to our financial wellbeing. And that as women, we need to share our stories and insights to help each other along. Each one, teach one. 'The Pink Hard Hat' is Louise's metaphor for financial insulation. It's all about building a life of security, resilience, purpose and joy. So, put on your hard hat and your steel-capped boots, and start investing in yourself now.(PS - She'd love to hear from you. About the Author Louise is a mother to 3 daughters and lives with her husband James, 2 cats, 2 dogs and 3 ducks just outside of Brisbane, Australia. It's sometimes said that she was born lucky. She won a Scholarship to Australia's Bond University and shocked all her friends and colleagues when she was awarded the Inaugural Valedictorian of its first graduating class, graduating with a Double Major in Communications & Major in Marketing. But luck is often made of hard work, tenacity, vision and perspective - most of which were handed down from the amazing women who came before her. She worked from the age of 10 in her mother's Lotto agencies and had numerous part time jobs through school. While at University, Louise worked in the college gym as a personal trainer, in the halls as a communications tutor and in the nearby casino as a showroom waitress to pay for her books and living expenses. When her husband unexpectedly went to the Iraq War in 2003, Louise's simple life became more complex. Thrust out of her comfortable bubble, she decided she had to learn and understand more about how to make and grow money so that, in the possible but unlikely event he did not return home, she'd be able to take care of her children. Her desire for financial insulation and independence saw her embark on the building of over $42 million dollars of real estate, working school hours, often managing the household alone. For every woman that finds herself in a situation she couldn't and didn't imagine, this book outlines the process Louise went through - physically, mentally, financially and spiritually to overcome disruption and create a home of security, peace and joy for all those that come into it.
