Tim Waitai-Tipene, (Ngati Kuri/Ngati Whatua) was adopted into the Waitai-Tipene whanau as a toddler. He was raised in two cultures, NZ Maori and NZ European. First published in 1996 Tim is now the author of more than thirteen books, five of which have won awards. Isobel Te Aho-White, (Ngati Kahungunu/Ngai Tahu) a very popular illustrator based in Wellington.
