First ever monographic exhibition devoted to the baroque master Theodoor Rombouts (1597-1637), the unjustly forgotten star of Flemish Caravaggism. Rombouts was an established name in the Antwerp artistic environment, but after his early death he ended up in the forgotten corner. This exhibition and accompanying catalogue changes that, where Rombouts is placed in a new perspective and reveals his crucial role in genre painting.
