World Checklist and Bibliography of Sapotaceae is the 5th in a series intended to document families of particular interest to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and contributes to current international efforts to record the world's biota. This present volume will fill a long standing need for complete summaries of its genera. The fruit of Sapotaceae is a key source of food for primates and other arboreal mammals as well as larger birds and is also of considerable economic importance. This publication has summary accounts of genera and includes annotated source references.
